A man called his wife one morning and said, “Honey, I’ve been invited to go fishing out of town with my boss for a week. This could be a big opportunity for a promotion. Can you please pack enough clothes for the week, get my fishing rod and tackle box ready, and don’t forget my new blue silk pajamas?”

Even though something felt off, his wife followed his instructions carefully and packed everything he asked for.

A week later, the husband returned home, looking tired but happy. His wife immediately asked about the trip: how it went, if he caught any fish, and so on.

“I caught plenty—lots of salmon, bluegill, and even a few swordfish,” he said. Then, with a puzzled look, he added, “But why didn’t you pack my blue silk pajamas?”
