Kai Trump has been seen alongside her grandfather, President Donald Trump, on several occasions in recent years. Now 18, she made her debut on the women’s professional golf tour last year—but until recently, she had largely avoided speaking publicly about her famous family. That changed when she appeared on influencer Logan Paul’s podcast, where she opened up and shared new details about her uncle, Barron Trump.
Kai is quickly becoming the next rising figure in the Trump family spotlight. The daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, she began appearing more frequently in public last year while accompanying her grandfather at various high-profile events.
She gave followers a behind-the-scenes look aboard Trump Force One while traveling to Texas to attend a SpaceX launch and later joined him at the Ryder Cup. Since then, Kai has built a growing social media presence—posting golf content from the White House lawn and even launching her own clothing brand.
An accomplished golfer, Kai also stepped onto the LPGA stage last year. Despite her increasing visibility, she had remained quiet about her family life—until now.
Kai Trump opens up about Barron Trump
During her appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, Kai spoke candidly about her upbringing and shared her perspective on today’s political climate. She suggested that both sides of the political spectrum are becoming more extreme, placing much of the blame on social media.
“I think if both sides met in the middle, everyone would be a lot happier,” she said. “There’s a radical left and a radical right, and people are getting too extreme.”
She added that social media reinforces these divisions by shaping users’ feeds in one direction or the other. “You don’t see much in the middle,” Kai explained. “I think that makes some people kind of crazy, and others buy into it too much.”
Kai has several aunts and uncles, including one who is only a year older than she is. Barron Trump, 19—whom she affectionately calls “Uncle B”—has likely spent plenty of time with her over the years.
So what is Barron really like? Logan Paul asked her directly.
“He’s a great guy,” Kai said. “He doesn’t love the public eye, which I totally understand. But he’s a great guy.”
Paul also brought up the viral moment from Trump’s inauguration, when Barron appeared to whisper something to President Joe Biden. Kai said she didn’t know exactly what was said but believed it was something kind.
Looking ahead, Kai is set to play golf at the University of Miami next year. As the granddaughter of a U.S. president, she is accompanied by Secret Service agents—a reality that makes dating somewhat complicated.
“It’s a little awkward,” she admitted, describing dates with agents seated “two tables behind you.”
“I try not to let it bother me,” she said. “I’ve learned to focus and pretend they’re not there. But at first, it was really tough.”
With her growing public profile, athletic talent, and famous last name, many are curious about what lies ahead for Kai Trump.
