Watch: New Footage Reveals What Happened Seconds Before the Minneapolis ICE Shooting

A newly released video has drawn intense public attention to the final moments of a fatal encounter between federal immigration agents and Renee Good on a quiet street in Minneapolis. Recorded from an agent’s point of view, the footage captures a situation that initially appears calm, even routine, before rapidly spiraling into chaos. What unfolds in just seconds has raised urgent questions about decision-making, escalation, and accountability.

The video, first shared by a local media outlet, shows federal agents approaching Good’s SUV during an enforcement operation in south Minneapolis. Good speaks calmly and cooperatively, while her wife, Becca, stands nearby filming and attempting to ease the tension with lighthearted remarks. At no point early in the interaction does the scene suggest imminent danger, which has contributed to widespread shock over how quickly events changed.

The tone shifts abruptly when an agent orders Good to exit the vehicle. Moments later, the SUV is seen briefly reversing before moving forward. Almost immediately, gunfire erupts, and the footage ends. Additional videos circulating online show the vehicle continuing several blocks before coming to a stop. Good was later transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Federal officials have stated that the agent involved believed his life was in danger and described the shooting as an act of self-defense during what they characterized as a rapidly evolving situation. The agent has been placed on administrative leave, a standard procedure following officer-involved shootings.
