Greenland Talks With U.S. End With “Fundamental Disagreement,” Denmark Says

Diplomatic talks between the United States, Denmark, and Greenland concluded this week with what Danish officials described as a constructive exchange but a clear disagreement over Greenland’s future status.

The discussions, held in Washington, brought together U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Greenlandic Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt. Greenland is a semi-autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark and a part of the NATO alliance.
