A federal judge in Rhode Island has acknowledged what he described as a prompt response from President Donald Trump following a court order related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the federal program that provides food assistance to millions of Americans.
The comments came during ongoing legal and political scrutiny surrounding the continuation of SNAP benefits amid uncertainty over federal funding. In a written order, U.S. District Court Judge John J. McConnell Jr. noted that the administration had acted swiftly in response to judicial direction concerning the program.
