My husband, Walter, and I were married for 69 years.
We met in college when we were both young enough to believe that the future was something we could plan.
We were wrong about that.
Life had a way of making its own plans.
We built a home together. We raised three children. We watched our family grow to include five grandchildren. We celebrated graduations, birthdays, weddings, ordinary Sunday dinners, and countless moments that seemed insignificant at the time but later became the memories I treasured most.
Walter wasn’t perfect.
