For a generation of television viewers, Nicholas Brendon was the familiar face who could make a difficult moment feel a little lighter.
Best known for playing Xander Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Brendon built a connection with audiences that went far beyond jokes and comic relief. His character was awkward, imperfect, occasionally frightened, and yet remarkably loyal.
