The other two looked at each other, completely confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Tampons?” one of them asked. “You brought tampons to prison? What could you possibly do with those?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third convict slowly turned the box around and pointed to the words written on the package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Well,” he said proudly, “according to the box, you can do everything with them.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first convict leaned closer and read the label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Wait… what does it say?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third convict smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It says they can be used for swimming, horseback riding, and other activities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other two stared at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Okay… but we’re going to prison. There\u2019s no swimming, no horseback riding, and definitely no vacations.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third convict shrugged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Exactly.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He put the box back in his bag and grinned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Looks like I\u2019m the only one who brought something useful.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other two burst out laughing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“How is that useful?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Because if the box says I can do all those things, then clearly I have a lot more options than you two.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bus filled with laughter as the three prisoners realized that sometimes the best way to handle a difficult situation is with a little creativity and a good sense of humor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And from that day on, they always remembered one lesson:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
