The hallway was quiet.
Most of the visitors had gone home, the evening staff had begun their usual rounds, and the hospital had settled into the slower rhythm of nighttime.
But one security camera was still recording.
Nobody expected the footage to become important the following morning.
The nurse involved had simply been doing her job.
Her name was Elena, and she had worked at the hospital for several years. She was known by coworkers as someone who rarely left a task unfinished.
