A Familiar Texas TV Voice Is Being Remembered Differently

For many Central Texas viewers, Kris Radcliffe was more than a name on the evening news. He was a steady presence in living rooms, kitchens, and morning routines for more than two decades. His unexpected death at 51 has left coworkers, viewers, friends, and family mourning a broadcaster remembered as much for his kindness as for his work on camera.

According to reports from KCEN-TV, Radcliffe died unexpectedly. His family has asked for privacy as they grieve, while messages of support and remembrance continue to spread across social media.

A statement shared through his wife’s sister thanked the community for the outpouring of love. The message said Radcliffe’s wife has been reading the many texts, comments, and tributes, though replying personally has been difficult while the family processes the sudden loss.

A Career That Became Part of Central Texas Life

Radcliffe joined KCEN in 2002 as a sports anchor, beginning a long run with the station that would eventually make him one of the region’s most recognizable local broadcasters.
