New Clues Raise Questions in Nancy Guthrie Case

The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has moved beyond a standard missing-person investigation, as authorities in Tucson continue reviewing forensic findings, digital records, and witness accounts tied to the hours after she was last seen.

Guthrie was last seen on the evening of January 31, 2026, after having dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni. Investigators say Cioni later drove her back to her home in the Catalina Foothills area and reported arriving at about 9:45 p.m. He told authorities he stayed outside until he saw her go inside.

By the next morning, family members became concerned when Guthrie did not attend church services and could not be reached. What began as a welfare concern soon drew a broader law enforcement response.

Investigators Review Timeline, Evidence and Digital Records

Authorities have said Cioni recently took part in an extended interview with law enforcement. After online speculation about his involvement, officials clarified that he had not been arrested and had not been charged with any crime.
