What Officials Know After the Stockton Birthday Gathering Tragedy

A family birthday celebration in Stockton, California, turned into a devastating crime scene after gunfire erupted at a banquet hall, leaving at least four people dead and multiple others injured, according to authorities.

The incident happened on Saturday evening, November 29, at a venue along Lucile Avenue in Northern California. What began as a private gathering for a child’s birthday quickly drew a large emergency response from law enforcement officers and medical crews.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said calls began coming in shortly after 6 p.m. reporting that several people had been hit by gunfire. Deputies and first responders arrived, secured the area, and began assisting victims at the scene.

Officials confirmed that four people were pronounced dead. Several others were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities said the victims included both juveniles and adults, but they have not released names or detailed conditions as families are notified and privacy is protected.
