I Thought It Was a Piece of Trash on the Bathroom Floor—Until It Moved
At first, I didn’t think twice about it.
There, on the bathroom floor, was something small, dark, and oddly shaped. From a distance, it looked like a scrap of rubber, a piece of packaging, or some forgotten bit of debris.
Nothing unusual.
At least, that’s what I told myself.
The object was sitting just outside the strongest pool of ceiling light, making it difficult to see clearly. I took another look—and suddenly something about it seemed wrong.
It wasn’t flat.
It looked thick, uneven, and strangely organic.
I stood there for a moment, trying to convince myself that my imagination was getting the better of me. Bathrooms are full of small pieces of debris. Something could easily have fallen from a cabinet, cleaning product, or piece of packaging.
But the longer I looked, the less convinced I became.
Then I had an unsettling thought:
