A Caregiver’s 10 Years of Devotion Led to an Unexpected Inheritance

For ten years, I lived in the same house as Mr. Whitaker.

I wasn’t family.

There was no dramatic speech. No emotional announcement.

He simply acknowledged that I had stayed when I could have walked away.

Those few words meant more to me than he probably realized.

And suddenly, the house felt completely different.
