Authorities Reveal New Details About Tragic Deaths of Two Colorado Hunters

The Rio Grande National Forest in southern Colorado spans over 1.8 million acres of rugged mountains, dense forests, and winding rivers—a playground for adventurers, hikers, and hunters seeking both solitude and challenge. Among those drawn to its wild beauty were lifelong friends Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, both 25, seasoned outdoorsmen known for their meticulous planning, discipline, and deep knowledge of the wilderness.

In early September, as autumn began to paint the forest in shades of gold and crimson, the two set out for what they expected to be a routine hunting trip.
