Iran Postpones Execution of Protester Following International Attention

Erfan Soltani, a 26-year-old Iranian man sentenced to death for his involvement in a recent protest, has reportedly been granted a stay of execution.

Soltani’s case drew international attention after he was sentenced to death for attending a demonstration in Fardis, Karaj, on January 8. His family appealed for intervention from global leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, as the scheduled execution date approached on January 14.
