The farewell to 21-year-old Joyce Aparecida Paiva was marked by intense emotion and defiance. During the wake, family and friends couldn’t hold back their tears and embraced each other for comfort. At the same time, calls for justice were heard among those present.
Joyce was murdered on Tuesday (1), and the main suspect in the crime is her ex-boyfriend, Vinícius Souza Meira, 26. Their relationship lasted four months and ended just 15 days before the murder. The young woman’s mother believes the motive was jealousy. ” She left him because she didn’t like him ,” she said.
Despite never reporting any assault or threats, Joyce faced her mother’s disapproval of the relationship . “I met him on New Year’s. He wasn’t the right man for her ,” she said.
