My shift at the shelter had ended hours later than expected. Exhausted, I was driving through one of the city’s most affluent neighborhoods when headlights caught my attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was supposed to be an animal abandonment case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
