Her channel has 577,000 subscribers, and many viewers have followed her long-running vegan lifestyle.

Recently, however, she told viewers she was no longer vegan. Since then, she has posted videos of herself trying different non-vegan foods, including eggs and spiced fried fish.

The Steak Tasting That Made Her Cry

In one of her videos, Love Soo tried steak for the first time since leaving veganism behind. Before taking a bite, she appeared visibly nervous and told viewers, “Guys, I’m really nervous.”

Holding a piece of steak on her fork, she also reflected on criticism she had received in the past for being vegan, saying, “People said bad things to me because I was vegan, it doesn’t make sense.”

After finally tasting it, she began to cry and said, “It tastes so good.”

The moment stood out because steak is often seen as one of the foods most strongly associated with a non-vegan diet. For someone who had avoided meat for more than a decade, the experience was clearly loaded with emotion as well as taste.

Why She Said She Stopped Being Vegan

In another video, Love Soo explained that the decision was not based on one reason alone. She said that during her 14 years as a vegan, she still had occasional cravings for meat but accepted that there were foods she had chosen to give up.

“As a vegan for 14 years I did crave meat here and there, but there are certain things I knew I had to say goodbye to even though the cravings were really high,” she said.

She also acknowledged that some longtime viewers may be disappointed by the change. “If you guys do follow me for my vegan content you’re going to be very disappointed, and I’m sorry,” she told them.

Love Soo said one factor behind the shift was health-related, particularly her concern that her diet had not included much protein. She said she had recently started working out while dealing with anxiety, depression, and PTSD, and that building muscle had become part of how she was trying to support herself.

“There are many many reasons why I decided to eat meat,” she said. “One of them was I just recently started working out because I was dealing with anxiety, depression, and PTSD.”

She added that her previous diet had been very high in carbohydrates and later high in both fat and carbohydrates, with very little protein. She also said she did not like beans and mainly relied on tofu as a vegan protein source.

The Bigger Picture

People choose vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, or reduced-meat diets for many different reasons. For some, the decision is tied to health, allergies, religion, animal welfare, or environmental concerns around food production, including the impact of beef.

Others take a more flexible approach, sometimes described as reducitarian, where they limit meat without removing it completely. That can mean eating mostly plant-based meals while occasionally including animal products.

Love Soo’s videos have become part of a broader conversation about how personal diet choices can change over time. For viewers, her story is also a reminder that nutrition is highly individual, and anyone making major dietary changes for health reasons may benefit from speaking with a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian.

Whether people agree with her decision or not, the response shows how personal food choices can become deeply emotional when they are tied to identity, health, and years of habit.

A YouTuber known for food and drink videos has drawn attention after sharing an emotional moment from a major change…

[1

post-13498","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-story
["GET
