The world of British comedy is mourning the loss of one of its brightest stars. Prunella Scales \u2014 the beloved actress who brought to life the unforgettable Sybil Fawlty in the iconic sitcom Fawlty Towers<\/em> \u2014 has passed away at the age of 93.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her family confirmed that she died peacefully at her home in London, surrounded by loved ones. \u201cOur darling mother Prunella Scales died peacefully at home in London yesterday,\u201d her sons, Samuel and Joseph, shared in a statement. \u201cAlthough dementia forced her retirement from a remarkable acting career of nearly 70 years, she continued to live at home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her family, Scales had even been watching Fawlty Towers<\/em> the day before she passed \u2014 a touching reminder of the role that made her a national treasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Than Just Sybil Fawlty<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
