Newly released documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein have reignited global attention on one of the most controversial images tied to the case\u2014a photograph showing Prince Andrew alongside Virginia Giuffre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein\u2019s longtime associate who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking-related convictions, appears to have acknowledged that the widely disputed image is authentic, lending new weight to years of speculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prince Andrew\u2019s association with Epstein has been scrutinized for more than a decade, with the photograph often cited as a central piece of circumstantial evidence suggesting a personal connection between the former royal and Giuffre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following prolonged public pressure and renewed attention triggered by the Department of Justice\u2019s pending Epstein files release, Prince Andrew was stripped of his remaining royal titles in October 2025 and instructed to vacate his Windsor residence. These actions came shortly after the publication of Giuffre\u2019s posthumous memoir, which intensified scrutiny surrounding the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her memoir, Giuffre alleged that she was coerced into sexual encounters with Andrew on three occasions while she was underage. Prince Andrew has consistently and forcefully denied all allegations and has repeatedly stated that he never met Giuffre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That denial has long conflicted with the existence of the photograph, which shows Andrew\u2014then 65\u2014with his arm around Giuffre\u2019s waist. Giuffre was 17 at the time. Maxwell is also visible in the image, which was reportedly taken inside her Mayfair home in London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For years, Andrew has insisted that the photograph was manipulated or fabricated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, internal correspondence revealed in the most recent release of more than 3.5 million Epstein-related documents appears to contradict that claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the files, Maxwell privately acknowledged to Epstein that the image was genuine. In a draft statement she prepared with Epstein, Maxwell wrote that in 2001 she was in London when Giuffre met several of her acquaintances, including Prince Andrew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA photograph was taken,\u201d Maxwell wrote, suggesting Giuffre wanted proof of the meeting to share with others. She emphasized that she did not instruct Giuffre to provide Andrew with a massage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maxwell went further, stating \u201cfor the record\u201d that Prince Andrew did visit her home and that Giuffre was present at the time, confirming that the two did, in fact, meet. She added that she had no knowledge of any sexual interaction between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Epstein responded to the draft statement by noting there were \u201ctoo many unanswered questions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the time the statement was drafted, Maxwell appeared intent on discrediting Giuffre\u2019s claims, describing them as false and motivated by financial incentives. She also criticized what she called relentless media scrutiny directed at herself, Prince Andrew, and attorney Alan Dershowitz, arguing it violated principles of fairness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The newly surfaced documents stand in stark contrast to Maxwell\u2019s public remarks in 2023, when she dismissed the photograph outright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to TalkTV at the time, Maxwell said, \u201cIt\u2019s fake. I don\u2019t believe it\u2019s real for a second. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that she had never seen an original version of the image and claimed only photocopies existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The latest Epstein files release has once again raised serious questions about past statements made by key figures in the case and underscores the broader impact of public records transparency in high-profile legal investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
