Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason expressed empathy for Kirk’s family, stating he had personally spoken with Kirk’s widow, Erika, on Wednesday evening. “The family is devastated,” Mason said. “As commissioner, as a father, as a husband, I can only imagine the pain they are experiencing.”
Mason added, “This horrific event does not reflect Utah or what we stand for. We will not tolerate such acts of violence. Every officer, every investigator, and every local agency is fully committed to identifying and apprehending the individual responsible.”
Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Charlie Kirk’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
