In May 2025, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi traveled to Shillong with his new wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, to celebrate their marriage. The destination, known for its scenic beauty and peaceful atmosphere, was supposed to mark the start of their life together. Instead, it became the setting for a disturbing criminal case.
A few days after their arrival, Raja was reported missing. Authorities later discovered his body in a remote gorge outside the city. Personal belongings, including identification and valuables, were missing, initially leading investigators to believe the incident may have involved robbery or an external attack.
As the investigation progressed, police examined phone records, travel movements, and witness statements. These efforts revealed inconsistencies in Sonam’s account of events.
