She Took Grandma’s Ring at the Bedside — What Arrived Days Later Changed Everything

My grandmother was still alive when my aunt quietly slipped the ring from her finger.

The hospice room was softly lit, the kind of quiet that hums rather than settles. I sat at the foot of the bed, holding my grandmother’s hand and telling her how much I loved her. My aunt leaned in to say goodbye.
