New Epstein Documents Reference Madeleine McCann—Witness Provides Insight

Madeleine McCann Name Surfaces in Jeffrey Epstein Files – A 2009 Sighting Raises Questions

Nearly 19 years after Madeleine McCann’s disappearance, her name has unexpectedly appeared in newly released documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The files include a 2009 witness statement describing a young girl who “looked like Madeleine McCann,” allegedly seen walking with a woman resembling Maxwell.

The Disappearance That Shocked the World
Madeleine McCann was just 3 years old when she vanished on May 3, 2007, while on vacation at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, had gone to dinner roughly 100 yards away from the apartment where Madeleine and her twin siblings were sleeping. When Kate returned, Madeleine was gone.

Portuguese authorities launched an immediate search, border controls were alerted, and the case quickly became “the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history.” Despite global attention and years of investigations, Madeleine has never been found.

A 2009 Witness Statement Emerges
The newly released statement, included in millions of pages unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice, was written by a UK witness who reported seeing a young girl in fall 2009:

“It was a quiet Sunday. I found myself walking behind a woman and a little girl. There was also a middle-aged man walking ahead. The girl looked like Madeleine McCann. She kept her hand over her right eye and kept glancing back at me. The woman seemed agitated that I was there. She looked just like Ghislaine Maxwell.”

The detail about the child covering her right eye drew particular attention. Madeleine has a rare eye condition called coloboma, creating a distinctive keyhole-shaped mark in her pupil.

Connections and Caution
The statement has reignited debate online and reminded investigators of earlier 2009 leads, including an e-fit image of a woman described as a “Victoria Beckham lookalike” seen near Barcelona shortly after Madeleine vanished.

However, authorities in both the UK and U.S. caution that this is an unverified report. The Department of Justice stressed that the files may include false or unconfirmed information submitted by the public. No official link between Madeleine’s disappearance and Epstein or Maxwell has been established, and no new investigative actions have been reported.

While the statement is intriguing, it remains one isolated account within a massive trove of documents, and authorities advise careful interpretation.
