Donald Trump Says Families of Soldiers Killed in Iran Asked Him to ‘Keep Fighting’

President Donald Trump recently revealed the heartfelt request from the families of six American service members who lost their lives in the escalating conflict with Iran. His comments come more than a week after U.S. and Israeli joint airstrikes targeted key Iranian sites, including facilities linked to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28.

Since the strikes, Iran has retaliated with missile and drone attacks, targeting U.S. assets and allied positions in Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. The conflict has intensified, and the Pentagon has confirmed multiple American casualties.

The six fallen soldiers—Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan (54), Maj. Jeffrey R. O’Brien (45), Capt. Cody Khork (35), Sgt. Noah Tietjens (42), Sgt. Nicole Amor (39), and Sgt. Declan Coady (20)—died when an unmanned aircraft system breached defenses and struck a command center in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, on March 1. A seventh, 26-year-old Army Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, was also killed in ongoing operations.

Honoring the Fallen

During the transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, where the remains of the fallen soldiers were returned home, President Trump met with their families. “They were unbelievable people,” he said. “But they all had one thing in common: every single one said, ‘Finish the job, sir, please finish the job.’”
