A Decade of Silence: The Story Behind the July Event

For twelve years, my husband, Michael, followed the same summer routine. Every July, he would spend one full week away at what he called “a family tradition” on the islands. According to him, the gathering was reserved only for his mother and brothers—no spouses, no children.

He insisted there was no one else involved. It wasn’t about another relationship; it was about avoiding pressure and finding space alone.

What started as a simple break had gradually turned into secrecy.
