Donald Trump has never exactly shied away from controversy, especially when it comes to women. Over the decades, his relationships have made headlines—from his marriage to Czech model Ivana Trump in the 1970s, which ended after an affair with Marla Maples, to his later marriage to Marla herself, and now his marriage to Slovenian model Melania Trump.
His public scandals involving women are well-documented. A leaked audio in which he bragged about groping women sparked outrage, and in 2019, journalist Elizabeth Jean Carroll accused him of sexual assault—resulting in a court ruling that ordered him to pay damages. Then there’s the case of adult film actress Stormy Daniels, who claimed a 2006 affair with Trump, leading to legal consequences over hush money payments.
But among all his reported regrets with women, there’s one that stands out: Princess Diana.
In his 1997 book The Art of the Comeback, Trump wrote that he “never had the opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer.” He recalled meeting her several times and being captivated by her charm and presence. “She lit up the room,” he said, calling her a “genuine princess” and “a dream lady.”
