The shepherd crossed his arms, studying her with a small, knowing smile.
“Alright,” he said calmly, “if I can guess your real hair color… you’ll give me my animal back?”
She laughed, completely confident. “Deal. But you won’t get it right.”
He nodded slowly, then pointed at the animal she was proudly holding.
“First,” he said, “how about you give me my dog back?”
For a second… she just blinked.
