The courtyard went completely silent.
Mud dripped from Olivia’s sleeves as she slowly pushed herself up from the ground. Her torn shirt hung loosely from one shoulder, exposing the faded black tattoo etched across her shoulder blade. It wasn’t decorative. It wasn’t trendy. It was a military insignia—one so rare that most of the recruits had never seen it before.
But Colonel Hayes recognized it instantly.
