Early Thursday morning, a serious incident at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital prompted a swift emergency response and a temporary lockdown of the medical facility.
According to officials, the situation began shortly after 7:00 a.m. when reports of a shooting inside the hospital’s parking structure were received. Law enforcement units and emergency responders arrived within minutes, securing the area and placing parts of the hospital under lockdown as a precaution to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
Authorities later confirmed that both individuals involved were employees of the hospital. A 25-year-old staff member who was injured was transported to the emergency department, where medical teams stabilized his condition. Officials have indicated that he is expected to recover. Investigators have not yet released details regarding what may have led to the incident.
