This evening, I came home tired and ready for bed, unaware that the night was about to take an unexpected turn

It was supposed to be an ordinary evening.

After a long, exhausting day, all I wanted was a few hours of rest. But as I walked into my bedroom and glanced toward the floor beside my bed, something immediately caught my attention—and stopped me in my tracks.

Scattered along the dusty edge of the room were several small, dark objects unlike anything I remembered seeing before.

At first glance, they looked deeply unsettling.

The shapes were twisted and curled, partially hidden beneath strands of hair, dust, and debris that had collected over time. Their appearance was strangely organic, almost as if they had once been alive. In the dim light, they resembled tiny remains left forgotten in a corner of the room.

The longer I stared, the more uncomfortable I became.

My mind immediately jumped to worst-case scenarios. Had pests invaded the house? Was there something hiding nearby? Could these be signs of a larger problem I hadn’t noticed?

Suddenly, my bedroom—the place where I usually felt most comfortable—felt unfamiliar.

I crouched down for a closer look but kept my distance. The objects were stiff, dark, and oddly fragile-looking. They seemed far too strange to ignore, yet I wasn’t eager to touch them either.

Sleep quickly became the last thing on my mind.
