Julián had always considered his apartment a place of comfort. After a difficult chapter in his personal life, living alone offered the peace and routine he desperately needed. His days were predictable, his evenings quiet, and his modest home felt like a safe retreat from the outside world.
But one ordinary night reminded him that even familiar surroundings deserve regular attention.
Like many people juggling work and daily responsibilities, Julián had gradually become less strict about household upkeep. An open window for fresh air, a forgotten snack beside the bed, and a few chores postponed until the weekend hardly seemed like serious concerns.
Nothing about his apartment appeared unsafe.
Then everything changed.
Late one evening, Julián went to bed expecting nothing more than a good night’s sleep. Hours later, he woke suddenly with intense discomfort. At first, he assumed it was an insect bite or an allergic irritation, but within minutes the symptoms became more alarming.
He experienced widespread itching, dizziness, and difficulty catching his breath.
Recognizing that something wasn’t right, he reached for his phone and called emergency services.
