A gravestone is usually intended to preserve a person’s memory and provide a place for loved ones to reflect. But in one unusual case, a hidden message carved into a grave marker has sparked a debate about humor, remembrance, and the rules that apply in shared cemetery spaces.
The message was reportedly created as an acrostic, with certain letters forming a phrase that was not immediately obvious to visitors.
For the deceased man’s children, the hidden wording was meant as a personal joke that reflected their father’s sense of humor. Cemetery officials, however, viewed the matter differently.
