I never expected this to happen during a routine shopping trip at Walmart. A man approached me with a request that left me stunned: he wanted me to give up my wheelchair for his wife.
At first, I thought it was a joke or a test. But he was serious. The man, likely in his 50s, was insistent, while his wife stood silently behind him, looking uncomfortable but saying nothing.
I calmly explained, “I’m sorry, but I need this wheelchair to move around.” He dismissed my words, insisting his wife had been standing all day and it would be “only fair” for her to use my chair.
