U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar announced Tuesday that she will run for governor of Minnesota, following Governor Tim Walz’s decision not to seek a third term in office.
Klobuchar, a Democrat who has represented Minnesota in the U.S. Senate since 2007, said she is entering the race because she believes the state needs experienced and steady leadership.
“These are times that call for leaders who can stand up for Minnesotans, work across differences, and focus on fixing problems in our state,” Klobuchar said in remarks reported by Fox News.
