Immigration Enforcement to Continue in Minneapolis, Says Federal Adviser

Federal immigration enforcement in the Minneapolis area will remain active, according to White House border policy adviser Tom Homan. Undocumented immigrants without legal status are still subject to arrest and deportation under U.S. law.

Homan, who visited Minnesota this week to oversee federal immigration operations, spoke at a news conference in Minneapolis. He said the federal presence will be adjusted only as cooperation with local authorities improves, particularly through agreements to notify federal agents when individuals in local custody are set for release.
