Trump Threatens Legal Action Over Grammy Joke Linking Him to Epstein Island

President Donald Trump has publicly threatened legal action against comedian Trevor Noah following a joke the comedian made during the 68th Grammy Awards, held on February 1, 2026. The comment referenced Trump in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s private island, prompting a firm denial from the president and a statement about possible litigation.

During his monologue as host of the awards show, Noah made a quip while presenting the Song of the Year award, saying artists want the honor “almost as much as Trump wants Greenland,” and added that, because Epstein’s island was no longer available, Trump might need a new one to “hang out” with former President Bill Clinton.
