In a preview of an upcoming episode of Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist, he described Garner as an exceptional mother and joked that his own efforts do not quite measure up.
“Their mom is spectacular,” he said.
Affleck recalled telling his children that he was probably doing “about 75 percent as good as your mom.”
Their response, according to the actor, was less flattering.

Affleck then joked that he was doing his best, even if his children were not prepared to give him full credit.
Behind the humor, his comments reflect the important role Garner continues to play in their family and the respect he has expressed for her as a parent.
Garner has also spoken positively about their arrangement, describing Affleck as an involved father and a supportive co-parent. As their children grow older, both parents have had to adapt to changing schedules and the challenges of balancing family responsibilities with demanding careers.
Affleck has described a routine that includes working, picking up the children from school and spending time with them when they are staying at his home. He has joked that family dinners depend on whether the children feel like spending the evening with him.
The lighthearted remarks offer a glimpse into an arrangement built around maintaining a close relationship with their children.
Affleck’s family commitments also influence the professional decisions he makes.
The actor has explained that he tries to choose projects based in Los Angeles whenever possible, allowing him to remain close to his children rather than spend extended periods filming far from home.
“I’m divorced, I have shared custody, and I don’t want to miss these years. My kids are here, and their life is flying by,” he told Variety.
