An elegant elderly woman walked into a cruise ship bar and politely ordered a Scotch\u2014\u201cjust two drops of water, please.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the bartender set it in front of her, she smiled warmly.
\u201cI\u2019m celebrating my 80th birthday today,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell then, happy birthday! This one\u2019s on the house,\u201d the bartender replied with a laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After finishing, a fellow passenger offered to buy her a drink. She nodded graciously, ordering the same Scotch with two drops of water. Minutes later, a man on her other side offered as well, and again she politely accepted\u2014same order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Curious, the bartender finally asked, \u201cMa\u2019am, why only two drops of water each time?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She giggled, her eyes twinkling.
\u201cSon,\u201d she said, \u201cat my age, I\u2019ve learned to handle my liquor. Water, however, is a completely different challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another wise woman walked into a bank to withdraw cash. Handing her card to the teller, she said, \u201cI\u2019d like to withdraw $500, please.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m following the rules. Step aside if you\u2019re done here. There are others waiting,\u201d the teller snapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman smiled, handed her card again, and said, \u201cThen I\u2019ll withdraw all the money in my account.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The teller froze. Balance? $3.5 million. She stammered, \u201cWe can\u2019t provide that much. You\u2019ll need an appointment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman nodded and asked, \u201cHow much can I withdraw today?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUp to $300,000,\u201d the teller replied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPerfect,\u201d she said. She took $500 in cash, then asked for the remaining $299,500 to be deposited back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
