Early one morning, a pastor heard an unusual noise outside his front door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When he opened it, he was surprised to find a donkey standing there. Before he could even react, the animal suddenly collapsed and didn\u2019t move again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not quite sure how to handle the situation, the pastor picked up the phone and called the local sheriff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSheriff,\u201d he said, \u201cI\u2019ve got a bit of an unusual problem here. There\u2019s a donkey on my doorstep, and it looks like it\u2019s not going anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sheriff, known for his sense of humor, couldn\u2019t resist making a comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWell, Pastor,\u201d he replied, \u201cI thought it was your job to take care of situations like that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without missing a beat, the pastor calmly answered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOf course, Sheriff\u2014but I always make sure to notify the family first.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a brief silence on the line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then the sheriff let out a laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlright, Pastor,\u201d he said, \u201cyou got me there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the pastor wasn\u2019t quite finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd since I\u2019ve already reached the family,\u201d he added gently, \u201cI figured you might also want to come by and help with the arrangements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sheriff chuckled again, shaking his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
