Authorities say a Dougherty County EMS ambulance, which was transporting two patients and three medical staff members, collided with a 2017 Ford pickup truck. The impact caused the ambulance to flip onto its side, striking a 2023 Buick Encore that was passing through the intersection.

Within minutes, Albany Police and fire crews were on the scene, quickly joined by GSP investigators. The intersection was closed for several hours as emergency responders treated the injured and cleared debris.

Inside the ambulance were five people — two patients, including a newborn, and three EMS personnel.
