“I can play poker, solitaire, blackjack\u2014I’ll never get bored,” he said proudly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m going to spend my sentence learning to paint. Maybe I’ll become the greatest prison artist ever.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third man sat quietly with a grin on his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What did you bring?” the others finally asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without saying a word, he reached into his bag and pulled out a family-sized box of tampons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first two convicts stared at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One blinked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other scratched his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“…Tampons?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third man nodded confidently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Yep.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first convict laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What are you going to do with those?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second added, “You don’t even know what they’re for, do you?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third convict smiled even wider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I sure do.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He pointed to the side of the box and began reading the instructions aloud:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“With these, you can swim, ride a horse, play tennis, go hiking, run, dance, exercise, and enjoy all your favorite activities.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
He folded the box shut and shrugged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“So if I can do all that with one little tampon…”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“…just imagine what I can do with the whole box!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bus driver burst out laughing so hard he had to pull over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even the prison guards couldn’t keep a straight face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of them wiped tears from his eyes and said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Son… I think you misunderstood the advertisement.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The convict looked genuinely confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It says it right here!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The guard chuckled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“That’s advertising. It doesn’t mean the tampon gives you those abilities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The convict looked down at the box, then back at everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“So you’re telling me…”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“…I’ve been carrying around the world’s most disappointing survival kit?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By then, the entire bus was laughing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even the first convict admitted,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“You know what? Forget the cards.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I want to spend my sentence sitting next to him.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
