Most kids dream about college, traveling the world, and making lifelong friends. Taylor Smith, a bright 12-year-old from Johnson City, Tennessee, was no different. Her days were filled with family, friends, and marathon sessions of Doctor Who<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

In April 2013, Taylor wrote a heartfelt letter to her future self, tucked it in a box in her room, and marked it with clear instructions: \u201cTo be opened by Taylor Smith on April 12, 2023 only (unless said otherwise).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Tragically, Taylor never got the chance to see her dreams unfold. Just months after writing the letter, she passed away due to sudden pneumonia complications, leaving her parents, Tim and Mary Ellen Smith, devastated.<\/p>\n\n\n
