Floyd cautioned, \u201cI think we will struggle to determine the \u2018why,\u2019 but we will try our best to understand what transpired.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prime Minister Mark Carney called the incident \u201chorrific,\u201d offering prayers and condolences to the victims\u2019 families. Premier David Eby described the shooting as an \u201cunimaginable tragedy,\u201d urging British Columbians to support Tumbler Ridge during this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mass shootings remain rare in Canada. Previous attacks include the 1989 Montreal shooting, which killed 14, and the 2020 Nova Scotia rampage, claiming 22 lives.
