President Donald Trump has issued a statement following the deadly shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis, a tragedy that has sparked nationwide outrage.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described the footage as “a horrible thing to watch,” calling Good “disorderly” and claiming she “violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE officer,” who fired in what he called self-defense. Trump emphasized that attacks on law enforcement and ICE agents are driven by the “Radical Left” and urged Americans to “stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate.”
Video footage of the incident shows multiple ICE agents approaching a burgundy Honda Pilot. According to the footage, Good did not immediately exit the vehicle. She briefly reversed before attempting to drive forward, prompting an ICE agent to fire three shots at the driver. The SUV then collided with a parked car further down the street. The video has gone viral, fueling debate over the circumstances of the shooting.
Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, spoke to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, expressing grief and shock:
“That’s so stupid. She was probably terrified. Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was extremely compassionate, loving, forgiving, and affectionate—an amazing human being.”
Ganger also refuted claims that her daughter was involved in protests occurring near the scene, insisting she had no connection to demonstrations.
