Few household surprises are as startling as spotting a snake where it doesn’t belong. One moment you’re walking through your home, and the next you’re frozen in place, wondering how it got inside and what to do next. While the experience can be alarming, staying calm is the most important first step.
Contrary to popular belief, most snakes don’t enter homes looking for people. They’re usually searching for warmth, shelter, or food. If rodents, insects, or other small prey are nearby, your home may unintentionally become an attractive hiding place. In many cases, the snake simply found an opening and wandered in by accident.
Your immediate priority should be safety—not capture.
Keep a safe distance and make sure children and pets are moved to another room. If possible, close the door to the area where the snake is located to limit its movement. Avoid trying to touch it, corner it, or force it outside. Even nonvenomous snakes may bite if they feel threatened, and it can be difficult to identify a species accurately from a distance.

They have the training and equipment needed to remove the animal safely while minimizing stress for both the snake and your household.
