The hotel lobby was nearly empty when a father and his teenage daughter arrived late one evening.
The girl looked exhausted. She leaned against a suitcase while her father stood at the reception desk, checking his phone and speaking quietly with the front-desk employee.
Nothing about their arrival was automatically suspicious, but the situation appeared unusual enough to catch the attention of the hotel staff.
