Dank DeMoss is back in the conversation, but this time it is not because of a courtroom filing. The Detroit rapper and entrepreneur, whose real name is Dajua Blanding, recently appeared in social media videos riding in a spacious luxury van with a personal chauffeur, prompting many people to revisit the rideshare dispute that first brought her national attention.
The new videos show DeMoss traveling in a vehicle with far more room than a typical sedan used for app-based rides. For some viewers, it looked like a practical upgrade. For others, it became another talking point in a story that has already raised questions about customer service, passenger safety, body size, and access to transportation.
How the Lyft Dispute Started
DeMoss became widely known outside Detroit’s music scene after an incident involving a Lyft ride request in early 2025. According to reports at the time, a driver arrived in a Mercedes-Benz sedan and allegedly refused to complete the trip after deciding she would not fit comfortably or safely in the vehicle.
Parts of the encounter were recorded and later circulated online. In the video, DeMoss challenged the driver’s assessment and said she could fit in the car. The driver reportedly suggested that she request a larger vehicle instead.
