What started as an ordinary traffic stop quickly became a hilarious exchange that left police officers trying not to laugh.
Margaret, an elderly woman with a sharp sense of humor and a calm smile, was driving along a quiet road when flashing lights appeared behind her. She slowly pulled over, rolled down the window, and greeted the young officer politely as he approached her car.
The officer asked the standard question drivers hear every day:
“Ma’am, do you know how fast you were going?”
Margaret smiled warmly and responded without hesitation.
“At my age, son, I don’t even look at the speedometer anymore. I just keep up with traffic.”
The officer paused and glanced around the empty roadway before replying:
“There is no traffic.”
Without missing a beat, Margaret laughed softly and answered:
“Well then… I guess I’m winning.”
A Purse Full of Surprises
The officer requested her license, and Margaret immediately began searching through her oversized purse.
Out came tissues, wrapped candies, receipts, and even an expired grocery coupon, but no license.
After several moments, she looked up casually and admitted she might have left it at home.
Then she added something that instantly changed the officer’s expression.
“But honestly, I don’t really need one anyway.”
The officer raised an eyebrow.
“And why is that?”
Margaret leaned forward slightly and whispered with complete confidence:
“Because technically, I don’t even own this car.”
